Banco Atlantico

A brief look at the historic records of Spain’s Banco Atlantico, presently headquartered in the province of Catalonia, reveals several milestones. In 1901, after Cuba gained independents from Spain, bankers Francisco and José Nonell Feliu moved the business to the city of Barcelona. Together with local businessmen, they founded a bank Nonell, Rovira y Matas. Since its establishment, the bank’s name changed several times until in 1946, the body was acquired by the Count of Ruiseñada Claudio Güell y Churruca who renamed the structure Banco Atlantico. The bank went on private hands for the first time in 1984, when the consortium of Arab Banking Corporation, BBVA, and Alianz acquired Banco Atlantico from the Spanish government. In 2003, the bank ceased its independent existence and became a part of Banco Sabadell (BS) Group.

To its individual clients, the devoted team of Atlantico is pleased to offer the full range of everyday and personal banking solutions including savings and current accounts, bank cards, online banking, consumer and mortgage loans, deposits, and pension plans.
